Last updated: 18 November 2024 at 15:20:09 UTC by Jim Friend

A legal deed shall not be executed on behalf of the council unless authorised by a resolution.  If a council has a common seal, it must be used for sealing a deed required by law, applied by the Proper Officer in the presence of two councillors, who shall sign the deed as witnesses.

If a council does not have a common seal, any two councillors may sign any deed required by law, and the Proper Officer shall witness their signatures.
