SLCC have developed some flexible online and e-learning modules and events that provides an alternative and more flexible option for officer training and development.
SALC also offer alternative 'local' options.
Introduction to Local Council Administration (ILCA)
This online course is an introduction to the work of a local council, its councillors and the clerk. It provides an opportunity for a clerk new to study in their own time whilst they settle into their new role.
This e-learning is offered by the Society of Local Council Clerks. SALC also offers new clerk training delivered via Zoom to small groups. More details on the member portal under "events".
Financial Introduction to Local Council Administration (FILCA)
This online course offers a learning tool to support all new Responsible Financial Officers (RFOs) or officers who have a financial element to their role. It comprehensively covers all aspects in five modules which are individually assessed to test your knowledge and understanding throughout.
This e-learning is offered by the Society of Local Council Clerks. SALC also offer a range of financial management courses provided by The Parkinson Partnership. More details on the member portal under "events".

ILCA to CILCA
This course is designed for those students who have completed ILCA and are aspiring to complete the Certificate in Local Council Administration (CiLCA).
The aim is to develop knowledge, confidence and skills, bridging the gap between the two courses and building your portfolio ready for you to begin CiLCA.
This online course is offered by the Society of Local Council Clerks and delivered in a series of webinars, comprising five modules with each one containing several tasks, questions and explanations.
