Clerks unplugged

A bi-monthly networking event designed to bring clerks together.

Each 1-hour session is split in two parts:

Part One features a focused discussion on a specific topic, led by an expert or guest speaker, offering valuable insights and/ or practical knowledge.

Part Two provides a safe, supportive space to connect with fellow clerks, exchange ideas, share experiences, and raise questions. It’s also an opportunity to speak with the SALC team for general guidance on new issues or emerging areas of concern.

Our guest speakers will be Graham Abbott (Public Health, Suffolk County Council) and Julie Chapman (Suffolk Wellbeing Service, NSFT).

The session will be focusing on:

  • the importance of managing your own wellbeing

  • supporting the wellbeing of those who volunteer on councils

  • promoting the wellbeing of wider communities, particularly during periods of significant stress, such as major infrastructure projects

We will also be highlighting the Well Minds booklet, produced by the Public Health and Communities Team at Suffolk County Council in partnership with the Suffolk Voluntary and Statutory Partnership (VASP), with kind permission from the Communities and Leisure Team at East Suffolk Council and the East Suffolk Community Partnership Board.

There will be time for Q&A.
