SALC engagement with members
statistics following our recent area forums and online events and live survey results (last updated 22nd April 2025)

We recently held our usual rounds of area forums with the key topic of discussion being devolution.  We have also held some additional online events and to help us assess the value of these activities we have mapped the following data:

Area forums bookings, attendance, clicks to notes/recording

There were some technical issues with one of the forums.  We can see engagement in our forums with high numbers watching on demand.  Non-attendance at the live event can be for a variety of reasons including coinciding with local meetings.  It is encouraging that we had 693 clicks onto the meeting notes.

In addition we hosted a national online event with guests Chippenham Town Council on 17th February which attracted over 200 delegates on the day and post - event the recording has been watched 255 times.   We also hosted an event with MHCLG (Ministry for Housing, Communities and Local Government) focussing on devolution and the consultation for a Mayoral County Combined Authority which was attended by over 90 delegates across Suffolk and Norfolk.

To date (16th April) we have published 7 blogs on the topic of devolution which in total have had 2,933 views.

The current live SALC survey is gathering data to assist us in our representative role

How familiar are you with the concept of DEVOLUTION and a joint Mayor for Norfolk and Suffolk?

How familiar are you with the concept of local government re-organisation (LGR)?

Are you aware of the initial plans/ideas that have been submitted to government by district, borough and county councils in Suffolk

In relation to our online briefings designed to help explain the changes that are happening, we asked if it would be useful to have more of these.

  • 81.48% said yes

  • 18.52% said no
